To resolve these types of issues, try the following:

1) Click 'Start', 'Run'.
2) Type DXDIAG and click 'OK'
3) Click 'Sound' at the top of this display.
4) Slide the 'Hardware Acceleration' slider all the way to the left so it reads 'None' or 'Off'.
5) Click 'Exit' and try the program now.

If the above fails, you may need to update your video card drivers. Contact your PC or Sound card manufacturer for details on how to accomplish this.
